  5.       CMPQwk Visa/MC Registration Instructions
  6.    -----------------------------------------------------------

  8. Please register this product if you intend to use it.  
  9.  
  10. If you are a registered user of another offline mail reader
  11. such as OLX or WinQwk, please also see UPGRADE.WRI.  
  12.  
  13. If you're a public BBS sysop, please see SYSOP.WRI.

  17. You can register CMPQwk via credit card by calling one of 
  18. the support BBS systems in the Los Angeles area.  The numbers
  19. for those systems will be at the end of this file.

  21. You can upgrade from another mail reader via credit card, 
  22. but you'll have to enter some additional information that 
  23. we will then verify.  Also, there is a cash discount if 
  24. you order by check or money order, since that method 
  25. costs us less to perform.

  27. Credit card registration procedure
  28.  
  29. It's really rather easy.  When you call one of the 
  30. support systems, log as CMPQWK USER with the password 
  31. REGISTER.  At the main menu you'll be presented with the 
  32. option to run the Registration Questionaire, or the door 
  33. will automatically run once you've logged in under that 
  34. account name (depending on the particular BBS).
  35.  
  36. Select REGISTER from the menu.  The questionaire or 
  37. door will request some information.  You will need to 
  38. enter your name, your telephone number, your address, 
  39. the bank name issuing your credit card, the credit card 
  40. number and expiration date.  Be sure to enter your name 
  41. exactly as it appears on the card or the transaction may 
  42. not complete.  You will be asked to confirm which product 
  43. you would like to register and whether or not it's a new 
  44. registration, upgrade, or sysop package registration.  What
  45. happens then will depend on the type of order.

  47. New Registration: Once you've entered all your data the 
  48. system will record it and you will be mailed a postcard 
  49. with your registration key and numbers.  New registrations 
  50. via VISA or Mastercard cost $47.50 plus applicable California
  51. State sales tax.

  53. Upgrade Registrations: If you're upgrading from a competitor's
  54. product (WinQwk, OLX, SLMR) select UPGRADE from the menu.  
  55. It will ask you exactly the same questions as "Register" 
  56. only it will add a few more.  You will be asked to enter 
  57. the product name and serial number of your existing mail reader, 
  58. in addition to the name, address, and credit card information.  
  59.  
  60. After we verify your current ownership (by calling the author 
  61. of your exiting mail reader) we will mail you a postcard with 
  62. your registration and key numbers.  
  63.  
  64. Upgrade registrations via VISA/MC cost $28.75 per copy plus 
  65. applicable California State sales tax.

  67. Sysop Registrations: Sysops who want to register ten or 
  68. more of their users can call in to the registration door 
  69. and do so just like regular users.  They need only select 
  70. SYSOP REGISTRATION when they are presented with the 
  71. registration menu, and the door will list a default of 
  72. TEN registrations ordered (you may add more when it asks you 
  73. to confirm that number but you may not select less than ten).

  75. The questionaire requests the sysop's name, the name
  76. and telephone number of the BBS he or she operates, the 
  77. usual credit card information, and the EXACT names of your users.  
  78. Enter their names exactly as they want them to appear on their 
  79. registrations, seperated by commas.  We will mail one or more 
  80. postcards with your user names and their keys/registration 
  81. numbers as well as a complimentary registration for the sysop 
  82. for helping us.

  84. Sysop registrations done in batches of ten or more units 
  85. cost $28.75 per unit plus applicable California State sales tax.
